You're right, Jim. Those Star brand saws are thicker, but are not what Traditional woodworker is currently selling. the newer saws are truly terrible.

Looks like a "Traditional Woodworker" saw. I tuned one of those for a guy on the Bushcraft site and did a nice comprehensive review of it with pics, but the moderators deleted it because I wouldn't buy a vendor membership. sheesh. anyway, I thought I posted it here in the database too, but don't see...

Excellent! That's so cool to find an etch under a painted saw. a Simonds 202 is a good blade. I still have a 5.5' and I sold a 5' a few years ago. It has that space between the second and third cutters like most Simonds saws, and a longer row of cutters than American Simonds, so I would guess Simonds Canada.
