Re: MARSHALL WELLS 5 FOOT BUCKING SAW

It is Wells, see picture of example etch. It may not be the same as yours. I do not have much information on these saws but I have been told the big three saw makers made the saws for this hardware stores but they were not as high in quality such as fewer grinds and lower quality steel. This might e...

Re: Mine saw ID

I see other Disston Keystone docking saws with this etch graphic in the catalogs. I think this 2 man crosscut is an older Disston Plain that got the Keystone etch for Miner's use?

Mine saw ID

A friend has a 2 man mine saw with an etch I have not seen before. Was hoping somebody will have some information that could help with identification of this saw?

Re: Help identifying Two Man Saw Blade

Maybe a Disston 254 Triumph?
Need more information about the saw to determine. Have you attempted to safely expose an etch if it is still there?

Atkins bucking saw

Came across this Atkins bucking saw and am wondering which model it is? I have other Atkins bucking saws but this one has me stumped. It measures approx 0.089" at the tooth and 0.061 along the back. It is segment ground and I found it has a straight back. Oddly enough, I put my Atkins 51 against it ...

Re: Help with this Disston one-man

I purchased the 1911 catalog and scanned that page for you. I see there are now folks advertising to sell electronic copies of that catalog for $15. I have collected catalogs to help me identify saw make and model and maybe determine age. Some of the age can be determined by the etch style as seen i...

Re: Help with this Disston one-man

My guess would be a Disston No 2 as seen in the clip shot from the 1911 catalog. Note the etch matches from what I can tell with your picture. The catalog graphic does not show a model number (or name) in the etch. Most of the Disston etches have the name or model number directly under the icon but ...

Re: Ohlen-Bishop 1927 catalog

Interesting how they are all like a Simonds saw with same model numbers. Except the 225 which is just like an Atkins Victor 225.
Anyone know some of the history on this?

Perforated Lance One Man 392 Victor?

Is this an Atkins 392 Victor one man saw? Graphics in catalogs show perforations in the heel and this one has two in the toe.
