That would be greatly appreciated. I can hammer the saw straight, but I feel that if it will cold bend in either direction with minimal torque (my hands), there is either something wrong with the saw, or the tension is off.

Can anyone speak towards properly tensioning a saw? I hammered out the kink on a disston 1 man I have, but the saw is apt to re-kink in the same spot. I've kinked handsaws before and this was with very little force, much less than other times I've kinked saw as a kid. There must be more to straighte...

Do rakers filed like this pull better noodles? I only file the upper half of the raker and my saws usually pull pretty lousy chips of wood.

You're not alone. I'm a new CCsaw guy and I cut all my shop wood this year with CC saws, mostly a plain tooth cutting through a 4 year seasoned locust tree. The 4' plain tooth set up with 2 people could make it through about 10 inches of the locust (the log rivened in half) in about 1 minute. So muc...

Spiders

Does anyone know of a source for spiders other than ebay and the CCsaw company's site? Is it possible to make one, even if only for rough measurement? I'm not happy only cutting dry wood out of fear that the saw will choke, since the set is not accurately measured. Thanks, I enjoy reading these foru...

I used an old axe with the flattest poll I could find as I had no anvil or suitable chunk of steel. The kink came out fine and the saw is straight now.
