Scans that I have accumulated over the years, mostly Atkins and Simonds.

I have a 48" Great American one man bucking saw which I recently acquired. The title line of the brand says ----------D SAW WORKS etched in an arc over the top of other symbols and printing etched in another arc. The two arcs form a football type shape. I was only able to distinguish a few of the lower letters and couldn't recognize any words. This saw is certainly antique, is taper ground, hardened quite hard, and quite heavy due to thickness of the blade. The only name I have found so far that would match the title line is Penfield Saw Works of Bristol, Conneticut which earlier in it's history was owned by one of the Atkins. This business seemed to have vanished around or shortly after 1900.
The rest of the etching seems to have almost vanished during cleaning so I am looking for help in researching the saw.
